Formoterol and fluticasone propionate are two drugs included in the Maxiflo 250 inhaler. Formoterol, a long-acting bronchodilator, relaxes the muscles around the airways to keep them open. One of the steroids is fluticasone propionate. It prevents the release of specific chemical mediators that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways. Together they make breathing easier.
